I carried all of this into adulthood,( a very private person I always was!!) I fell into a DEEP depression, blackness all around me, wanting and afraid I would take my own life . I even wrote a note during church (a last note before I would take my life) I am still here because of God's mercy and grace first and foremost and then because of an amazing counselor who literally helping me to stay alive and talk about those inner demons that have haunted me for a lifetime!! It is a humbling thing to do, to share your innermost self openly with another, but the most freeing thing I have ever done. I am seeing a professional counselor and it has been costly, but worth every penny. This is coming from a person who was SO private and would not let anyone in her world! I am so glad I am receiving this counseling. My counselor does not judge me for what I say, but listens with his whole heart and truly cares for my well-being. I am learning to trust a GOd I cannot see for the first time and learning to trust people and love who I am (just how God created me) I am on the road to recovery, but not there yet...it is a PROCESS to be sure, but well worth it.
