Dr. Scott Coupland is an Associate Professor of Counseling and Academic Director of the M.A. in Counseling degree program at Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando. His teaching at RTS is enriched by more than eighteen years of clinical experience in medical school, hospital, university, private practice, and church settings. He has authored articles published in several professional journals such as the Journal of Marriage and Family Therapy and the Journal of Psychology and Christianity. He is a clinical member and approved supervisor of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, and as a licensed marriage and family therapist he maintains an active private practice. He is married to Joan and they have two children, Brynne and Cami. An avid scuba diver, he spends his free time exploring ocean reef systems, ship wrecks, and underwater cave systems.
There are many people who can benefit from counseling but are unable to afford the going rates charged by counseling professionals. I am excited to serve on the Board of Renewing Hearts because of their concern to provide quality counseling especially to those who could not otherwise afford it.
