Many in today’s economic whirl wind, are experiencing job loss. Some of us have lost our jobs of several years, lost jobs that we have only had a short time or know someone close to us, who has. It is a devastating experience, to say the least. It is what we do every day. It pays the bills. It pays to keep our kids in school. It gives us security.
Losing our jobs, our source of income, creates real intensities of anxiety. It can create depression, lessen our sense of self value, create tensions in our home, and so many other things.
When we lose our jobs, we go through what is referred to as a “grief process”. There are many stages to this process. In a couple of follow-up posts we will discuss this process and give ideas for help.
Stay tuned!
thanks for doing a series of posts related to Job loss. This is something that I worry about, though I have not lost my job in a few years. Still I worry about finding another job if I studdenly find myself without aq job one day.
Again thanks, and I’ll be looking for the next post as always.
Sadly, job loss is affecting so many now. I am one of those that lost a job I loved for 18 years in Dec 2008 due to the bad economy. Fortunately, I was able to turn my initial fear and anxiety into joy and opportunity by following a simple plan …….even included one miracle! So inspired, I wrote a book, The Joy of Job Loss, for those who have lost their job, for those who know someone who has lost their job, or for those who simply fear losing their current job. My hope is that my job loss experience, plan, and positive results covered in my book will have as much value to others as it did for me. I hope you will read and share with others. Wishing all those impacted by job loss only the very best moving forward.
